Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, TX seeks pharmacy technicians to work under the direction of Clinical Pharmacists, performing non-judgmental technical duties and supporting various pharmacy operations.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) and Pharmacy experience is preferred; state licensure as a registered pharmacy technician is required, with trainee acceptance and completion within two years; per diem/PRN schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy technician in the State of practice required; trainee accepted with 2 years to complete; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Technicians perform non-judgmental technical duties under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Prepare drug orders per physician request per policies and protocols; verify patient records.
• Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law.
• Verify daily department activities and maintain documentation.
• Maintain current technician license and CE records; attend staff meetings.
• Specialty area support in operating room or other pharmacy work areas; ambulatory care and retail duties.
