Job Description:

The Certified Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:

1. Answering telephones and responding to questions from patients, doctors, and clinics.
2. Maintaining proper storage and security conditions for medications.
3. Assisting customers with questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
4. Pre-packaging medicines, filling bottles with prescribed medications, and labeling.
5. Establishing or maintaining patient profiles, including medication lists.
6. Receiving and verifying written prescription or refill requests.
7. Ordering, labeling, and counting medication stock.
8. Pricing and filing prescriptions.
9. Operating cash registers for customer payments.
10. Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas, sterilizing glassware.
11. Mixing pharmaceutical preparations as per prescriptions.
12. Processing medical insurance claim forms and records.
13. Pricing stock and marking items for sale.
14. Delivering medications or supplies to patients or healthcare stations.
15. Transferring medication from vials to sterile syringes using aseptic techniques.
16. Maintaining and merchandising home healthcare products or services.
17. Performing additional responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
