Job description

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play an essential role in empowering our customers to take their medications correctly and achieve better overall wellness. Our pharmacy features a casual dress code in a non-retail facing environment. An active in-state pharmacy technician license is required to be considered.

Key Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy
  2. Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  3. Work daily with Leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right packets
  4. Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications
  5. Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
  6. Transition orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control
  7. Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items
  8. Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes
  9. Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
  10. Aid the distribution manager and distribution pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
  11. Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas
  12. Package medications for dispensing and for delivery
  13. Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hours
Physical Requirements

During shifts lasting up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary):

  1. Standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching and/or stretching
  2. Lifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weight
  3. Manual dexterity of hands and wrists
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Active and unrestricted in-state Board of Pharmacy License (This includes Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses)
  2. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)
  3. High school diploma or equivalent
  4. 6+ months of experience working with computer and web based tools
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor. Ability to read and understand English language labeling on product cartons and prescription labels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
  2. Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
  3. Ability to recognize and identify patient medications
  4. Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $42,120/year in our lowest geographic market up to $53,664/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
