Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. The role supports the pharmacy team, performs aseptic compounding, and handles medication distribution within a hospital setting.

Shift is days, with every 5th weekend responsibility. Under pharmacist supervision, you will triage requests, prepare parenteral admixtures, operate automated dispensing and documentation systems, and participate in staff training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician (RPHT.NE) or CPHT.IA at start of employment.
• CPHT.IA within 1 year if Trainee Registration.
• CPHT certification within 12 months of registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transfer of medication issues and communications within pharmacy team.
• Sterile compounding management and low/medium risk competency.
• Central Pharmacy management including unit dose and Omnicell operations.
• Handle all Omnicell pending and loads; ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
• Follow safety policies and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
