Job summary

VA Health Care System in Albuquerque is seeking Pharmacy Technicians to support inpatient and outpatient operations. You will assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and processing prescriptions, while ensuring VA compliance.

The role covers inventory control, operating VISTA/CPRS, and educating patients under supervision. This on-site position requires a CPhT license and 2 years of experience, with a schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Active CPhT license required.
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience (VA experience preferred).
Familiarity with VISTA/CPRS EMR.
Experience in inpatient or outpatient pharmacy settings.
U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
Process inpatient and outpatient prescription orders per VA protocols.
Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and expiration checks.
Operate pharmacy automation systems and EMR (VISTA/CPRS).
Maintain accurate records for controlled substances.
Provide patient education under pharmacist supervision.
Ensure compliance with VA regulations and safety protocols.
