Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a technician training program, or equivalent experience.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Board of Pharmacy (CPhT) or equivalent certification (PTCB/NHA).

Responsibilities

• Maintains an accurate census and cassette bin labels for all assigned areas.
• Maintains adequate inventory of medications and supplies.
• Returns reusable medications to stock and processes controlled substance returns.
• Prepares medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision and maintains documentation.
• Exchanges cassettes and patient-specific bins per schedule.
• Assists in delivery to patient care areas and rounds as directed.
• Repackages medications per departmental policy.
• Prepares parenteral products under supervision with aseptic technique.
