Job description

Job Overview: Join our dedicated pharmacy team at TriHealth Infusion Center Pharmacies as an Advanced Pharmacy Technician – Ambulatory Infusion. In this key role, you will assist pharmacists in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical care. You’ll be responsible for sterile compounding—including chemotherapy and hazardous medications—inventory management, and maintaining a compliant, sterile environment. This position calls for proactive engagement in regulatory compliance (USP 797, 800, NIOSH) and a strong commitment to patient safety and care excellence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from PTCB or ExCPT (required)
  • Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (required)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 1–2 years pharmacy technician experience (required)
  • 3–4 years sterile compounding experience (preferred)
  • Experience with chemotherapy and hazardous compounding (preferred)
  • PTCB Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) certification (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare non-hazardous and hazardous compounded sterile products using aseptic techniques
  • Maintain USP-compliant environments in hoods, cleanrooms, and anterooms
  • Monitor temperatures, pressures, and cleaning logs daily; escalate issues as needed
  • Perform and document routine and remedial cleaning; participate in compliance audits
  • Manage inventory using Omnicell; reconcile invoices, handle recalls, and ensure proper drug storage
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all compounding duties through regular competency assessments and environmental validation

Incentives Offered:

  • 1) Earning and maintaining PCTB Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Certification
  • 2) Designated trainer for Infusion Pharmacies Ambulatory Infusion Center technicians will be working with chemotherapy and hazardous medications on a daily basis and compounding is a primary job duty.
