Statement of Purpose:

Certified Pharmacy Technicians assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and keeping patient records. They work under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist and do not perform duties exclusively reserved for registered Pharmacists.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or GED. College courses are desirable but not required. Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Certification / License: Registration with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician, certification by an approved certifying body, or Pharmacy Intern license, including P3 and/or P4 Pharmacist student status.
• Experience: Successful completion of at least 500 hours as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, or completion of a Board-approved Pharmacy Technician training program. For Pharmacy Interns, P3 or P4 standing is required.

MRMC Differentials:

Hospital differentials are: $3.50 hourly for evenings, $5.00 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends. All differentials are paid according to hospital policy.
