Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.

You will process prescriptions, compound medications, manage inventory, and assist patients with inquiries while complying with safety and regulatory guidelines. Requirements include high school diploma, Texas State Board registration, CPT-EXCPT/CPT-PTCB/CPHT certification, and at least 6 months of IV compounding experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with TX State Board at hire.
• Active CPT-EXCPT, CPT-PTCB, or CPHT certification at hire.
• 6 months IV medication compounding experience at hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications per policies and regulatory requirements.
• Performs clerical tasks in support of day-to-day department operations.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels.
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in quality assurance programs and maintains documentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation with required training.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential support to pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to patients.

Every day you will expertly process prescriptions, compound medications, manage inventory, and meticulously assist patients with their inquiries, all while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a professional, patient-focused demeanor, contributing to safe medication practices and excellent patient care.

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.
