Job summary

Holy Cross Health Florida in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support patient care in a clinic or practice setting, assisting licensed professionals with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing. Duties include verifying orders, reviewing interactions, counting and inputting data into the pharmacy computer system, and ensuring accurate weighing and labeling.

Qualifications

  • Must have National Pharmacy Technician Certification or be a Licensed Pharmacist Intern.
  • Must be registered with the State of FL as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of two years education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate physician orders for input into the pharmacy computer system accurately.
  • Review incompatibilities, interactions, and allergies for each order.
  • Ensure adverse drug reactions are reported accurately.
  • Input orders in a timely and workload-appropriate manner.
  • Check all dispensed medications and intravenous solutions for accuracy.
  • Weigh, measure, mix, and label all dispensed pharmaceuticals correctly.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Position Purpose As a Pharmacy Technician you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Pharmacy Technician usually spends the day on their feet finding medications, counting, calculating, packaging, and labeling prescriptions.

What you will do:

  • Physicians orders are evaluated accurately for input into the pharmacy computer system for all disease states and patient age groups.
  • Incompatibility data, drug interaction data, and drug allergy information is thoroughly reviewed for each order processed.
  • Adverse drug reactions reported are accurate and thorough.
  • Orders input is timely and consistent with workload demands.
  • All medications and intravenous solutions dispensed are checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All dispensed pharmaceuticals are accurately weighed, measured, admixed, and labeled properly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have National Pharmacy Technician Certification or in Lieu of this Certification a Licensed Pharmacist Intern is required.
  • Must be registered with the State of FL as a Pharmacy Technician
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years additional education and/or experience.
