Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fills patient-medication cart with unit doses of medications according to patient profiles.
• Prepares unit doses of medications for verification by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Re-packages bulk medications into unit-dose containers.
• Makes daily rounds to inventory floor-stock medications and reconciles stock with patient charges.
• Replaces medications and supplies in automated dispensing systems and reconciles stock with charges.
• Files floor-stock sheets daily.
• Answers telephone and relays messages accurately.
• Enters daily patient charges from charge sheets.
• Inspects medication storage areas monthly.
• Places and stocks orders with wholesalers and vendors.
• Maintains medication and supply inventories.
• Organizes expired or overstocked medications for return to vendors.
• Generates reports, picks lists, and labels as required.
• Answers window requests and delivers stat medications as needed.
• Replenishes medications in emergency crash carts and floor stock areas.
• Acquires current home med list for admitted patients and enters it for pharmacist review.
• Performs duties with awareness of patient age, growth, development, and cultural differences.
• Provides prompt, courteous service to internal and external customers and aims to improve service quality.
• Identifies opportunities to improve processes and financial performance and supports quality initiatives.
• Assists teammates and mentors new co-workers to ensure continuity of service.
• Follows hospital compliance programs and regulatory guidelines.
