JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for hospital pharmacy operations. The role involves medication preparation and distribution, aseptic IV admixtures, and interfacing with hospital pharmacy systems.
Candidates must hold Tennessee Certified Pharmacy Technician status and obtain a state license within 60 days. National certification is required; IV training and 1 year of pharmacy experience are preferred, with an AS degree in Pharmacy Technology as an advantage.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Certified Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for performing duties to assist the Pharmacist in medication preparation and distribution. Those duties consist of, but are not limited to aseptic preparation of IV admixtures and the filling and distributing of medications utilizing various methods of manual and automated systems. They must be functional on hospital computer system as well as interfaced pharmacy systems. CPhT's must be able to perform specialized Narcotic Distribution and Storeroom duties. They must prepare stock orders and maintain adequate inventory for daily operations of various Pharmacy areas. They must be computer literate. CPhT's must adhere to and be familiar with control and safety concepts as outlined in policies, state laws, and JCAHO/DNV Standards for the Department of Pharmacy. They must be familiar with the practices involved in a unit dose medication system.

Those duties consist of but are not limited to: Aseptic preparation of IV admixtures (including Chemotherapy agents) in compliance with departmental, hospital and licensing agency standards; fill and distribute medications through first fill, cart fill and/or Automated Drug Systems; must be functional on hospital computer system as well as interfaced pharmacy systems; possess familiarity of a multitude of generic/trade name medications; accurately process patient medication orders and billing adjustments as required. CPhT's should be able to perform specialized Narcotic Distribution and Storeroom duties. Must be able to fill oral prepackage syringes and use Medication Prepackage Machines, ensuring Federal prepackaging guidelines are met. Must prepare stock orders and maintain adequate inventory for daily operations of various Pharmacy areas. Maintain effective use of time management skills, and be computer literate. CPhT's must adhere to and be familiar with control and safety concepts as outlined in policies, state laws, and JCAHO Standards for the Department of Pharmacy. One must be compliant with the practices of a unit dose medication distribution system. All functions must be performed using excellent customer relation skills.
