Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets in Highland, NY is seeking a Pharmacy assistant to greet customers, assist pharmacists, and ensure prescriptions are prepared and filed accurately. Responsibilities include labeling, pricing, and processing insurance claims in compliance with state law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Background check and drug testing required.
• Current PTCB certification and state pharmacist license required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong math/data-entry ability.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong integrity.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Assist pharmacists with prescriptions by counting, labeling, and pricing.
• Ensure customers receive all prescriptions and file forms after dispensing.
• Prepare manual insurance claim forms when needed.
• Maintain organized filing per policy and state law.
• Assist in third-party audits and daily department tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper inventory levels; support controlled substances handling.
