Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will perform duties that do not require pharmacist judgment and contribute to accurate dispensing.

You will work with pharmaceutical nomenclature, medical terminology and perform calculations for dilutions, weights, measures and ratios, with competency-based training for aseptic IV preparations.

Qualifications

• PTCB certification required and must maintain active status.
• High school diploma or GED plus one year of post-high school education or relevant work experience.
• One year minimum retail pharmacy experience in the past five years and one year in a health system pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Pharmacy Technician works under pharmacist supervision.
• Performs duties not requiring professional judgment of a pharmacist.
• Demonstrates knowledge in pharmaceutical nomenclature, medical terminology and calculations.
• Supports aseptic compounding of IV medications with competency-based training.
