Qualifications

Job Summary: Assists pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, customer service, cash register operation, inventory monitoring, third-party processing, inventory work, and clerical tasks. Provides technical support for safe and effective care transitions at discharge, supporting medication reconciliation and discharge pharmacy services. Delivers medications to patient rooms upon discharge and assists with financial processes such as test claims and prior authorizations. Must work quickly and accurately in a busy environment and make independent decisions when necessary.

  • 1st shift, 8:30a-7p, 7 on/7 off, every other weekend w/ HOL rotation

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and processing medication orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and billing.
  • Organize daily tasks efficiently and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Maintain medication stock quality and availability.
  • Provide pharmacy services in patient care areas.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental goals.
  • Keep skills current and contribute to staff education.
  • Follow hospital standards to foster a positive work environment through communication and teamwork.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care following Age Specific Care Guidelines.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Have (Not Required):

  • Completion of a formal technician training program preferred.
  • Associate degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
