Job Description

The Certified Pharmacy Technician II (Medication Reconciliation) isresponsible for performing medication reconciliation at theUniversity of Toledo Medical Center, as well as tasks involving thedispensing, distribution and charging of drugs. This positionassists the pharmacist in maintaining quality pharmacy services incompliance with laws set forth by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacyto ensure in proper storage, compounding, packaging, labeling, andrecord keeping associated with drugs. The technician willcollaborate and communicate with patients, caregivers, health careprofessionals and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must hold current and unrestricted registration with the OhioState Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Technician certification required by Pharmacy TechnicianCertification Board (PTCB) or equivalent
• 2 years' experience.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionallyand courteously with other health care professionals, patients andmembers of the University community.
• Knowledge of metric system, along with names, strength and dosageforms of medications, and common medical abbreviations.
• Strong computer skills.
• Must provide excellent customer service and present a positivepublic image.
• Must be able to withstand pressure due to work volume,interruptions, pace, job variety with an expected degree ofaccuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent relative pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management skillspreferred.
• Knowledge of charging and billing preferred.
