Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partners in Nashville, TN, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support automated dispensing, inventory management, and patient services in the Pharmacy Services department.

You’ll work under pharmacists to ensure accurate compounding, regulatory compliance, and timely medication access, with licensure requirements and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy required within 3 months of hire date.
• Certification options: National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) credentials prior to hire date.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience; licensure can be used in lieu of education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain automated dispensing systems to ensure secure medication access for clinical units.
• Accurately prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage medications following safety standards.
• Oversee inventory, receive supplies, and ensure stock meets regulatory storage requirements.
• Serve as a primary contact, triaging inquiries and providing information to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Partner with Pharmacists to deliver distributive services and maintain departmental integrity.
