Job summary

Reedsburg Area Medical Center (RAMC) is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician to work at our new La Valle Clinic, soon to open.

Rotating 8-hour shifts: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM–7:30 PM and Sat-Sun 9 AM–5 PM. This role supports pharmacists and the Pharmacy Service, with required education, training, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of four years above high school with courses related to pharmacy or a bachelor’s degree.
• Or an associate’s degree in pharmacy technician (48 semester hours of concentrated pharmacy technician training).
• Or four years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Certification of CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA.
• Must have 1500 hours of experience as a pharmacist technician within the past three years or completed an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as all-around assistant to the pharmacist and understand the workflow and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Service.
• Perform duties within the pharmacy routine and support the Pharmacy Department operations.

What you'll do:

This is a full-performance-level position within the Reedsburg Area Medical Center Pharmacy Department. The role serves as an all-around assistant to the pharmacist, requiring performance of duties with an understanding of the workflow, the pharmacy routine, and the responsibilities of the Pharmacy Service.

Education and Training Required:

• Successful completion of four years above high school with courses related to pharmacy (e.g., 48 semester hours of science, mathematics, pharmacy) or a bachelor’s degree.

• ORAn associate’s degree in pharmacy technician (48 semester hours of concentrated pharmacy technician training).

• OR Four years of pharmacy technician experience

• ANDCertification of CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA

• Must have 1500 hours of experience as a pharmacist technician within the past three years or completed an accredited pharmacy technician training program.

• BLS certification required.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, manual/fine dexterity, grasping, and hearing at close distance.

• Occasional bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting.

• Occasional ability to lift/carry or push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Sight:

• Near and far vision is required in order to visualize computer screens, review documents, assist patients and other members of the healthcare team.

Cognition/Communication:

• Ability to participate in all aspect of communication in regards to writing, reading, math, hearing and comprehensive speech skills.

Environmental Conditions:

• Work is largely performed in a pleasant, indoor hospital/clinic environment.
