Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing medications, including sterile IVs and chemotherapy. This full-time role is based at Dallas Medical Center– Farmers Branch, TX, with 8-hour days from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities include inventory management, operating automated dispensing cabinets, and ensuring patient safety by accurate order entry and label checks. State licensure as applicable is required, with ASHP-style training preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if state laws require).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent training program preferred.
• 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications including unit-dose, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and operate automated dispensing cabinets.
• Manage inventory across nursing units, crash carts, and automated systems while handling controlled substances and monitoring expirations.
• Enter and verify medication orders in hospital EMR systems to ensure dosage accuracy.
• Support patient safety by checking labels, assisting with medication reconciliation, delivering medications, and preparing drugs for specialized populations.
• Comply with USP standards, maintain regulatory documentation, and take on specialized roles such as IV compounding, clinical support, or lead technician duties.

Overview

We are seeking aCertified Pharmacy Technician,sometimes referred to as a Registered CertificatedPharmacyTechnician, Pharmacy Tech (CPhT)or Board-Certified Pharmacy Technician.TheCertified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhTs) support pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile IVs, chemotherapy, and unit-dose drugs for patients. They manage medication inventory across patient care areas,maintainautomated dispensing systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Certified Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in patient safety by verifying orders, preventing errors, and ensuringtimelydelivery of critical medications.
