Job summary

Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC) is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist for a full-time position in Norwalk, CA. You will use your lived experience to support youth, young adults and families navigating substance use disorders and mental health treatment, while coordinating services and participating in education and outreach activities.

The role emphasizes family and caregiver engagement, collaboration with partners, and data recording across EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Support Specialist certified through DHCS-approved Certification Program.
• One (1) year's full-time work experience in community-based services field, specifically providing and/or coordinating family supportive services to youth, young adults and/or families.
• Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Use lived experience of recovery to assist individuals with recovery from mental illness or SUD.
• Coordinate and facilitate family/guardian involvement and support groups.
• Deliver educational sessions/workshops on overdose prevention and related topics.
• Maintain records of services in electronic health record systems (PCNX/Exym) and Project ISPACE data systems.
