Stars Behavioral Health Group in Victorville, CA seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the overnight shift. You will provide outreach, engagement, advocacy, and direct services to program clients, drawing on lived experience across mental health and related systems.

This role offers Thursday–Saturday 6:00 PM–2:30 AM and Sunday–Monday 11:30 PM–8:00 AM shifts, with competitive pay, generous time off, and comprehensive benefits including paid CEU opportunities and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Certification: Active California Peer Support Specialist Certification.
• Lived experience as a consumer within child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc.).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet agency driver eligibility criteria.
• First Aid certification from qualified providers (e.g., Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy, and direct services to program clients of all age ranges.
• Peer Support Specialists serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates.
• Support clients in moving toward recovery and creating a meaningful role in their life.

Starting Compensation: 21.00 - 28.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location: Victorville, CA

Working Hours/Shift: Thursday - Saturday 6:00 PM -2:30 AM; Sunday - Monday 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM

What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications)

• Education: Certification: Active California Peer Support Specialist Certification.
• Lived Experience: Personal, lived experience as a consumer within the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc.).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet agency driver eligibility criteria.
• Experience & Skills: One (1) year of full-time experience performing non-professional, consumer-directed services.
• Experience working within a mental health, healthcare, or social services agency serving individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Compliance & Safety: Valid California Driver’s License with an eligible driving record per company policy.
• First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.

How you will make a difference

The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy, and direct services to program clients of all age ranges. Peer Support Specialists are people who have lived experience in the mental health, judicial, and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates to our clients. The Peer Support Specialist will support clients in moving toward recovery, creating a meaningful role in their life, which is separate from their illness.

• Program: The Valley Star Crisis Mobile Response Team
• Population Served: Serving all age groups—children, adolescents, adults, and older adults
• Facility & Setting: Mobile | operates from 6 PM to 8 AM
• Clinical Services: offering rapid mental health assessments and crisis interventions. essential services for individuals needing immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.
