Job summary

Carolina Therapeutic Service First is seeking Certified Peer Support Specialists in Charlotte, NC to provide peer support within a multi-disciplinary team. The role emphasizes recovery-focused, individualized guidance and community engagement.

The position requires lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery, a High School Diploma or GED, and NC peer support certification. Applicants should be prepared to collaborate with families, providers, and other team members.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of mental health or substance use recovery.
• Understanding of recovery principles for mental health or addiction challenges.
• Prior experience in a service-oriented field is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized guidance, coaching, and support to clients.
• Deliver training on personal and community resource utilization.
• Assist in developing formal and informal community supports.
• Support individuals in expanding social networks of family, friends, and significant others.
• Offer encouragement during crises and advocate for clients' rights.
• Collaborate with providers, family members, and others involved in recovery plans.
• Attend agency staff meetings, case conferences, and supervision.
• Maintain established productivity standards and confidentiality.
