Job summary

Standards-Based Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Resources is seeking Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to assist clients with mental health, substance use, employment, and community reintegration in North Carolina. The role focuses on recovery-based support, self-help strategies, and connecting clients to housing resources and social skills development.

Responsibilities include advocating for recovery, guiding client participation in wellness plans, and helping individuals exercise

Qualifications

• Previous experience as CPSS, mentoring, teaching, tutoring, or other related fields
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Sufficient knowledge of mental health and substance abuse
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Guide and encourage recipients in taking responsibility for and actively participating in their recovery
• Assist the individual with self-determination and decision-making

• Teach and promote self-advocacy to the individual, and setting goals
• Provide support to empower the individual in exercising his or her legal rights within the community
• Facilitate treatment plans, goals, and objectives at varying therapeutic levels
• Provide constructive feedback to clients
