Job summary

Lch-Health-and-Community-Services seeks a compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist to join its Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) team. Leverage lived experience with mental health, substance use recovery, or co-occurring conditions to support individuals on their recovery journey.

You will help participants develop recovery goals, navigate resources, build self-management skills, and maintain engagement in treatment through one-on-one support, groups, advocacy, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Specialist and Peer Recovery Specialist certifications required or preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred for this position.
• Experience in training, education or career development is desirable.
• Experience in Community Mental Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with providers, staff, and community towards improving both physical and mental health for individuals and families.
• Assess, refer, and monitor progress towards achieving goals in the overall health of individuals and families.
• Provide one-on-one peer support, and groups focused on behavior changes to improve quality of life.
• Empower individuals with skills to engage in the management of both physical and mental health.
• Document interactions and interventions as directed.
• Follow all mandated reporter guidelines and always review suspicious concerns with supervisor.
