Cambia Health Solutions seeks a Peer Support Specialist to drive positive behavioral health outcomes by assisting peers in managing their recovery journey. This remote role will involve supporting clients through various methods, including telephone outreach and personalized wellness planning, while leveraging personal lived experience to create empathetic connections.

As a member of the Behavioral Health team, our Peer Support Specialists performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Peer Support Specialists work with members to achieve their personal health and recovery outcomes by helping identify barriers and providing support and education.The Peer Support Specialist will function as a role model to peers, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills while effectively and appropriately using their lived experience. The Peer Support Specialist will also serve as an advocate, providing information and encouragement for members who are navigating their behavioral health recovery – all in service of creating a person-focused health care experience .

What You Bring to Cambia:
Qualifications:
H igh school diploma and be a Certified Peer Specialist in OR, WA, UT or ID
3 years of experience providing Peer Support Services in a professional setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of individuals on highly sensitive topics.
Strong customer service skills including listening, patience, empathy and maintaining confidentiality.
General organization, data entry and administrative skills.
Proven ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
General computer skills (including use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet search).
Ability to work a varied schedule such as early evening.
Knowledge of recovery process and the language of recovery.
Ability to work independently, to prioritize work, meet deadlines and achieve operational standards.
Ability to research and problem solve in a creative manner to reach a solution.
Ability to identify when it is appropriate to refer to others.
What You Will Do at Cambia:
Initiates outbound telephone calls or emails to members who have opted in to Peer Support Services.
Utilize tools such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to assist members in creating their own individual wellness and recovery plans.
Teach and role model the value of every individual’s recovery experience, model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
Makes referrals to licensed clinical staff as appropriate.
Works with a Care Manager or other internal team to assure that member needs are met through identification and referral to appropriate resources.
Utilizes the applicable care management platform to appropriately record and track member interactions.
The expected hiring range for a Peer Support Specialist is $25.50 - $36.70 an hour depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history. The bonus target for this position is 5%. The current full salary range for this role is $24.00 - $41.50 an hour.
