JEVS Human Services is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to empower individuals toward recovery. The role focuses on helping clients set and reach personal recovery goals, delivering activities, education, and skills training, and promoting self-advocacy.

The CPS will foster a peer-support culture within the program, presenting on the CPS role to agency staff, community resources, and family members. This position is part-time, 17 hours per week, based in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals and groups to help recovery goals by creating action plans and providing activities, education, and skill teaching.
• Promote participants' self-advocacy skills.
• Promote a peer support culture within the program and present on the CPS role to agency members, community resource liaison, and family members.

The Certified Peer Specialist empowers and motivates people to work toward recovery – feeling the way they want to feel, making their lives the way they want them to be, developing goals, achieving and keeping those goals, and moving toward meeting life goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote participants' self-advocacy skills
• Promoting a peer support culture within the program. Give presentations on the role of the CPS to agency members, community resource liaison and family members.
