Job summary

Highland Rivers Behavioral Health provides treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual developmental disabilities. The organization seeks a Peer Support Specialist to join its virtual telehealth hub and bring lived experience to engage individuals and complement the service array offered.

Responsibilities

  • Staff peer warm line to provide engagement and supports for individuals who are in need of non-crisis recovery supports.
  • Provide outreach services to individuals served.
  • Provide reliable and relevant information to help individuals overcome barriers that may prevent engagement, retention, or re-engagement in treatment.
  • Provides telephonic intervention to individuals experiencing distress utilizing relevant personal experience, trauma informed practices and person-centered methods
  • Follows up with individuals and provides support as appropriate.
  • Provides peers and their families with information on community and Agency resources.
  • Demonstrates strong customer-service oriented behaviors. Treats everyone in a polite, professional manner. Handles concerns, problems and issues in a manner that is helpful and responsive.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
