Resources for Human Development is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time role employs your lived experience to support adults facing mental health challenges and to empower their recovery journeys.

You will provide coaching, help navigate systems, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Travel regionally, document services, and maintain required certifications are required for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Pennsylvania Board Certification as a Peer Specialist.
• Direct lived experience with mental health services and recovery.
• Experience navigating the forensic system in Allegheny County.
• Valid Driver's License and insurance.
• Ability to use computers and EHR software.
• Clearances (Act 34, Act 33, FBI) must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Promote recovery principles with members, providers, families, and community stakeholders.
• Provide recovery coaching and support recovery planning.
• Help individuals access and navigate mental health, substance use, and community services.
• Document services and complete billing in the EHR system.
• Travel throughout the region to meet member needs.
