Sedgwick County seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join the COMCARE ACT team. You will provide goal-directed, medically necessary peer support to adults with severe mental illness, helping them remain in the least restrictive environment.

Responsibilities include peer support using approved methods, facilitating recovery-focused groups, coordinating transportation in a personal vehicle, and ensuring documentation complies with COMCARE/CCBHC guidelines.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must self-identify as a person in recovery and meet KDADS requirements.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and vehicle for transportation needs.

Responsabilidades

• Provide peer support using identified methods to assist adults with mental illness.
• Help patients regain ability to participate in treatment and daily life decisions.
• Share lived experience and model recovery-focused behavior.
• Transport patients to medical appointments and activities using a personal vehicle.
• Lead self-contained, goal-directed groups and recovery-focused facilitation.
