Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to join our ACT Team in Shelocta, PA, supporting Indiana and Armstrong Counties. The role requires personal lived experience with mental health services and a PA-certified peer credential, with travel across counties to provide recovery-focused support.

As part of our ACT Team, you will apply WRAP/IMR approaches, provide individualized coaching, and help clients on their recovery paths.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Specialist meeting PA Certification Board requirement.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across County.
• Must have personal experience using mental health services and willing to share to aid recovery.
• 2+ years of paid or volunteer work with individuals with severe mental illness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching to empower consumers in their recovery goals.
• Share lived experiences to connect with individuals in treatment.
• Support ACT Team with symptom assessment, IDDT, and transportation for treatment plans.
• Participate in ITT processes and cross-training to integrate consumer perspectives.
• Attend treatment team meetings and internal/external sessions.
• Contribute to a culture that values consumer input in care plans.
