$47,695.00/yr - $58,447.00/yr
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide direct mental health services in emergency, inpatient, outpatient, community support, and residential settings. Your role includes serving as a role model, educating recipients about self-help techniques and group processes, teaching coping strategies, assisting in goal clarification for rehabilitation and recovery, and helping develop support systems. Your tasks focus on facilitating self-help skills, support systems, and fostering hope and self-esteem to aid recovery from psychiatric disabilities.
Candidate must be certified as a New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) by the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB).
Background checks are required. This position is at Central New York Psychiatric Center's Forensic ICM Program and is eligible for a $4,000 downstate adjustment.
