Job summary

WellBrook Recovery in Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to support individuals in detox, residential, and outpatient settings. You will draw on lived recovery experience to provide peer support, advocacy, and mentorship throughout the treatment process.

The role involves leading peer groups, assisting with goal setting and wellness planning, coordinating with therapists and staff, and helping clients access community resources.

Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin CPS certification is required.
  • Personal recovery experience preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or peer support preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support services and recovery mentorship to clients
  • Share lived experience appropriately to inspire hope and motivation
  • Facilitate peer support groups and recovery-focused activities
  • Assist clients with goal setting, coping skills, and wellness planning
  • Encourage participation in treatment, meetings, and recovery programming
  • Support clients with community resources and reintegration planning
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
  • Complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and the treatment team
  • Help create a positive, safe, and recovery-oriented environment

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to support individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a Detox, Residential, and Outpatient treatment setting.


The ideal candidate has lived recovery experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping others build meaningful and lasting recovery. This position plays an important role in providing peer support, encouragement, advocacy, and mentorship throughout the treatment process.


Responsibilities


  • Provide peer support services and recovery mentorship to clients
