Job summary

Telecare Corporation seeks a Peer Recovery Coach I in California to engage members, support recovery goals, and reinforce the RCCS culture. The role emphasizes de-escalation and critical-situation response, with a focus on least restrictive care.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, California Medi-Cal Peer Support Certification, and at least one year of behavioral health experience. Full-time schedule 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Mon–Fri, starting wage $23.00/hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California Medi-Cal Peer Support Certification through CalMHSA must be provided and verified prior to your start date.
• One year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
• Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

Shifts Available:

Full-Time | AM | Shifts: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Days: Monday - Friday

Expected starting wage is $23.00. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED required
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be provided and verified prior to your start date. Failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation with the company.
• One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges

About the Program: Home First North FSP is Orange County's Housing Full Service Partnership (FSP) program focused on providing housing-supportive services and behavioral health services to individuals residing in Orange County. Our purpose is to support members in maintaining stable housing, including resolving housing challenges and providing case management and behavioral health-focused services. Our staff creates a supportive environment, including services that is based on individual needs, hopes, and dreams. Home First North FSP members have access to a multidisciplinary team that includes peer specialists, case managers, a psychiatrist, a nurse practitioner, masters-level team leads, and clinicians who have experience in providing housing-supportive services and behavioral health-focused services. Program serves: 1) Residents of Orange County, ages 18 and older, who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness and 2) Individuals who have been housed and are currently at risk of losing housing in Orange County.
