Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a patient care technician to provide bedside care on a night shift. You will follow hospital policies, assist in emergencies, and support patient-centered practices across ages and conditions.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous learning, and adherence to performance improvement initiatives, with opportunities for clinical growth within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in acute care preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and CNA certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards.
• Follows isolation guidelines, uses protective equipment correctly, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.

Job Description:

Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]
