Job summary

AdventHealth in Land O Lakes, FL is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a full-time, day shift position. The role involves providing patient care, responding to emergencies, and supporting nurses in a fast-paced acute care unit.

Required is a High School diploma or equivalent; CNA/CPCT/A certifications and a basic life support (BLS) credential are listed in the qualifications. Prior bedside patient care experience is preferred, with background screening as per Florida law.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines and enforces safety regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures per department policy.
