Job summary

AdventHealth Littleton in Colorado is hiring a Full-time Patient Care Technician (CNA) for the Day shift, 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM, with a new-hire sign-on bonus up to $10,000. You will prepare rooms for admissions, welcome patients, assist with transfers, and ensure patient safety throughout the care journey.

Required is a High School diploma and 1+ year of experience preferred. BLS and CPCT/A or CNA certification as listed are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in caregiving or CNA role preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required as listed.
• CPCT/A or CNA certification per role requirements.
• Strong communication and attention to detail essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for new admissions, including setting up personal care items and vital sign equipment.
• Welcomes new admissions and orients patients to their rooms.
• Transfers patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs with assistance.
• Documents personal care, intake and output, vital signs, and weights.
• Collects and labels patient specimens and sends to the lab for analysis.
• Responds to patient call lights and addresses needs promptly.
• Maintains patient records and unit census accurately.

Job Description:

• Prepares rooms for new admissions, including setting up personal care items and vital sign equipment.
• Welcomes new admissions and orients patients to their rooms.
• Transfers patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs with assistance from other personnel.
• Ensures patient and personal safety by following proper lifting and transporting techniques.
• Documents personal care, intake and output, vital signs, and weights according to policy.
• Collects and labels patient specimens at bedside and sends them to the lab for analysis.
• Reports changes in patient status to appropriate personnel in prompt manner.
• Serves as a liaison between patients, families, staff, and medical personnel.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and unit census.
• Responds to patient call lights and address their needs according to skill level.
• Maintains a clean, comfortable, and safe patient environment.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as ordered by the physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
