Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support admissions, bedside care, and daily living activities in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will document vitals and care in the EMR, coordinate with nurses and physicians, and help maintain a safe, comfortable unit. If you have BLS and CNA or CPCT/A certification, you are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Experience as CNA or patient care technician preferred.
• 1+ year healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong patient and family communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for admissions and set up care items.
• Greet and orient patients to rooms.
• Assist transfers and safe patient handling.
• Document care, vitals, intake/output in EMR.
• Collect and label specimens for lab analysis.
• Notify changes in patient status promptly.
• Coordinate between patients, families, staff and physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient records and unit census.
• Respond to call lights and address needs.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment.
• Assist with activities of daily living as ordered.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

NEW HIRE SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE UP TO $10,000. FULL-TIME MID SHIFT 10A-10:30P

• Prepares rooms for new admissions, including setting up personal care items and vital sign equipment.
• Welcomes new admissions and orients patients to their rooms.
• Transfers patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs with assistance from other personnel.
• Ensures patient and personal safety by following proper lifting and transporting techniques.
• Documents personal care, intake and output, vital signs, and weights according to policy.
• Collects and labels patient specimens at bedside and sends them to the lab for analysis.
• Reports changes in patient status to appropriate personnel in prompt manner.
• Serves as a liaison between patients, families, staff, and medical personnel.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and unit census.
• Responds to patient call lights and address their needs according to skill level.
• Maintains a clean, comfortable, and safe patient environment.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as ordered by the physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
