Job summary

AdventHealth in Lampasas, Texas, seeks a patient care technician to support nursing staff overnight. You will perform treatments, assist with patient monitoring, and help ensure a safe, clean environment under the direction of a registered nurse.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, CNA/CPCT/NCPCT/PCT-C or EMT certification, and 1+ PCT experience; a bedside care background in acute care is preferred. The facility offers day-one benefits and a supportive team.

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
  • Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required] OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Required]

Responsibilities

  • Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
  • Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
  • Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
  • Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.

Job Description:
