Patient Care Techs II are responsible for:

1. Assisting in admitting, transporting, and transferring patients.
2. Responding to bedside alarms, ventilator alarms, and call bells.
3. Providing care to patients and prioritizing based on care requirements delegated by the RN.
4. Participating in patient care within the critical care environment under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• PCT, EMT, or CNA certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification; PALS preferred for pediatric units
• Completion of advanced clinical course (preferred)
• Handle with Care certification (preferred)
• Dysrhythmia course certification (preferred)
• At least two years of nursing assistant, PCT, or healthcare experience, or certification and completion of advanced skills training within 6 months of hire in lieu of experience
