This is a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in the Women's Tower at Banner Desert Medical Center . As a step-down unit from critical care and the ICU, this unit serves a high-acuity patient population across a wide variety of diagnoses, including respiratory issues, renal issues, cardiac conditions requiring continuous telemetry monitoring, alcohol and drug withdrawal, and infections. Although situated in the Women's Tower, this is a general PCU unit and is not limited to women's specific diagnoses or female patients- the patient population is varied and will continue to evolve as the unit grows.
