Boothby Therapy Services LLC is seeking a part-time Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) to support students with visual impairments in navigating school, home, and community environments. Join a collaborative team dedicated to empowering independence and confidence for children.

You will provide individualized instruction, assess needs, and develop goals while collaborating with families and school teams. The role emphasizes accessibility and meaningful participation.

Qualificações

• Degree in Orientation and Mobility from an accredited program.
• Current certification or eligibility for certification as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of independent travel skills, mobility techniques, and adaptive instruction.
• Ability to individualize services for students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Genuine commitment to empowering students with visual impairments.

Responsabilidades

• Teach safe, effective independent travel, orientation, and mobility skills.
• Assess each student's strengths, needs, and learning environment.
• Adapt instruction using visual, auditory, tactile, and nonvisual strategies.
• Develop individualized goals and service plans.
• Collaborate with families, educators, related-service providers, and school teams.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Advocate for accessibility, independence, and meaningful participation.
