Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is hiring an Operating Room Certified First Assist in Richmond, VA. You will work under the operating surgeon, acting as first/second assistant to ensure safe, efficient outcomes and assist with room restocking between cases.

The role requires a CAAHEP-accredited program in surgical assisting with CSFA, a current BLS, CSA credential, and OR experience. You will support the team with patient positioning, draping, and maintaining sterile conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program in surgical assisting and CSFA credential
• BLS certification
• One year OR experience, preferably in ambulatory surgery center
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA)
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon as first/second assistant during operative procedure
• Restock and change over rooms between cases
• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping
• Communicate with the surgeon and surgical team to ensure smooth workflow
