Paycom - ATS is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists with basic, advanced, and complex eye tests. The role includes preparing patients, maintaining exam rooms, and assisting with in-office procedures in a busy Pearland clinic.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in ophthalmology, familiarity with tests like tonometry and visual field assessment, and will obtain COA/COT/COMT certification within a year. A strong focus on patient care is essential.

Contributes to the organization by working closely with the ophthalmologist to perform basic, advance, and complex preliminary tests and measurements of the eyes. The OA generally meets with the patient before the Ophthalmologist to obtain medical history and prepare the patient for the examination.

EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES Basic Life Support (BLS). Uncertified Ophthalmic Assistants must obtain JCAHPO (COA, COT, or COMT) certification within 1 year of employment. Uncertified incumbents must obtain COA, COT or COMT certification credentials by the established deadline of 12/31/2021.
EXPERIENCE Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with ophthalmologist, preferably experience in retina practice.
