Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta seeks an Ophthalmic technician to support the Ophthalmology clinic. You will obtain patient history, measure visual parameters, perform refractions, and assist with imaging and pre/post-operative care.

Responsibilities include EMR data entry, tonometry, instrument prep, aseptic technique, and patient education. Requires COA/COT/COMT or BO LS certification as well as minimum 1 year in ophthalmology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Ophthalmology practice.
• JCAHPO Ophthalmic Certification (COA, COT, COMT) required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into EMR and provide patient services.
• Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry) and perform refraction as directed.
• Perform ocular imaging (OCT, Topography, fundus photography) and prepare surgical instruments.
• Maintain equipment and aseptic technique; provide post-operative education.
