Part-time, 68 hours/pay period
Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00 with full day and 1/2 days off per pay period

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant engages with patients, seeks to understand patient needs, and gathers information for the ophthalmologist. They will perform visual function and diagnostic tests as directed by the ophthalmologist/optometrist. The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant also performs duties as a scribe during the provider's exam.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of AAO Approved Home study course or formal Ophthalmic Assisting program. Maintain current Certification by IJCAHPO.
  • Experience in ophthalmic assistant duties
  • Dedication to patient satisfaction
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work cooperatively with physicians and other staff members
  • Current BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date

Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.

Benefits & Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $20.20-$29.30 initial pay based on relevant work experience.

Additional compensation if candidate is already Certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Medical Assistant, or a Licensed Practical Nurse.
