Job summary

The Oregon Long-Term Care Ombudsman is seeking RFO Certified Ombudsman volunteers to help advocate for individuals in residential facilities across Oregon. Volunteers will provide in-home visits and assist in resolving concerns, ensuring individuals' rights and quality of life are upheld.

This role requires strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Interested individuals aged 18 and over are encouraged to apply. A flexible time commitment of around 16 hours per month is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a criminal history check.
• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Reliable and dependable individuals are preferred.
• Adequate transportation required for visiting homes.
• Must have no conflict of interest.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home visits to provide advocacy services.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve complaints on behalf of individuals.
• Work closely with the supervising RFO Deputy Ombudsman.
• Manage requests for advocacy support.
• Support the rights and quality of life for residents.
