Job summary

Rich Square Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house team in a skilled nursing setting. You will collaborate with licensed OTs to deliver patient-centered therapy focused on independence and quality of life.

You must be a graduate of an accredited COTA program, have taken or be eligible for the NBCOT exam, and hold or be eligible for North Carolina licensure.

MUST BE A GRADUATE OF AN ACCREDITED PROGRAM AS A CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT, HAVE TAKEN THE NBCOT EXAM OR ELIGIBLE TO TAKE IT AND HAVE A STATE LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS ONE OR ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR ONE.

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our ‘in-house’ team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in our skilled nursing facility. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Duties/Responsibilities:

Assesses the needs of residents with occupational therapy needs and matches their needs with services available. Meets with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of residents' progress under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Reports progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist, management and family members and meets with them with or through the supervising Occupational Therapist on a regular basis to discuss.

Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills and licensure.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs.

Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
