• Meet with residents regularly according to treatment program schedules and document progress under supervision.
• Report progress to the supervising OT, management and family members; participate in regular discussions with supervision.
• Stay current with professional literature and attend seminars to maintain and update licensure.

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our ‘in-house’ team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in our skilled nursing facility. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Duties/Responsibilities:

Assesses the needs of residents with occupational therapy needs and matches their needs with services available. Meets with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of residents' progress under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Reports progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist, management and family members and meets with them with or through the supervising Occupational Therapist on a regular basis to discuss.

Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills and licensure.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs.

Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
