Qualifications

• COTA certification required.
• Home care or rehab experience preferred.
• Proven working experience as Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.
• Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (e.g., Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale).
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Drive to continually learn and grow in the profession.

Responsibilities

• Address client’s performance aspects to support engagement in occupations affecting health, well-being and life quality.
• Select and adapt the appropriate occupational therapy treatment model and approach per case.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in ADL and IADL.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and break down activities into components.
• Assess home and environments and advise on alterations.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe, note, and report progress of treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Regularly follow-up with client.
