Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility as an OTA.
• Graduate of an approved OTA curriculum.
• Licensure as an OTA from the California Board of Occupational Therapy and an active license.
• Current/active CPR/First Aid.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, psychology, sociology, kinesiology, or health science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and executes established patient treatment plans under supervision.
• Documents per facility requirements for licensing, certification, and reimbursement.
• Communicates with patients, families, and staff about treatment variations.
• Monitors patient progress and modifies plans as directed.
• Assists in implementing activities to improve ADLs, IADLs, cognitive function, and independence.
• Reinforces education on adaptive techniques and safety strategies.
• Assists in training self-care activities and functional mobility.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance of interventions.
• Maintains clean, organized therapy areas and equipment.
• Gathers information for progress reports and discharge planning.
